-Testimony - Charissa-

My experience in XScapade '06 was awesome! Till now there’s a phrase that has always remained in my heart, it’s "Dead to sin, alive in Christ, as a child of Christ, I’m born to set apart for God!"

That may sound like a simple cheesy phrase that is not a big deal but it’s something precious that remains deep in me. As it reminds me that every sins that I have committed in the past does not exist in the eyes of God as a child of God is not perfect but forgiven. A child of God is precious in his eyes and in his eyes, I’m perfect and flawless. I know that I’m not perfect in ways of being popular with my friends or scoring straight As for academic results but I know I satisfy Him and He satisfies me too.

Being a privileged child set apart for God is a tremendous blessing as I am able to stand and represent Christ and in life. I know that my goal is to thrive for excellence to honor Christ and to bring forth myself to others with the character of God, the beauty of his unconditional love and grace is always in me to touch other people lives.

Participating in activities with strangers and some fellow school mates were thrilling. There were moments of awkwardness but I still enjoyed the whole camp. I learnt to socialize more with others and everybody in the camp and my group "storm" were so friendly and surprisingly extremely enthusiastic. Especially Persie, Mariko, Jonathan, Nathalie ,Kelly ,Kathleen and Charmaine! They never gave up trying to talk to me and make me open up more as I barely spoke. Till the last few days we had group discussion , I managed to share more and learn more about Christ. I made new friends and got close to people I were distant to.I was glad to make new friends and learn more about the goodness of God.

The pastor who preached was awesome! I was so excited to learn more about God’s love and goodness every time we gathered to share the gospel and sing praises. There was once Nathalie prayed over some of the girls in the group and I broke down. I felt really relieved as it was long since I felt that peace in my heart. I definitely did not regret attending the camp and I definitely love the little letter booth where people chuck letters into individual letter slots, encouraging one another. Till now, I kept the little letters in a little tin and reading it occasionally makes me yearn to go back to the camp and meet those friends who made an impact on my life.
