--the DAIRY farm--
Welcome fellow-campers to the Wonderful World of Dairy Farm! Located near the picturesque Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Dairy Farm promises you an intimate experience with nature. Within its premises you will find lots of flora, ranging from fish tail palms to nice little toad stools. These beautiful plants will surround you and provide you with cool shade under the scorching sun! The peace and tranquility offered at this place is unrivalled. At every turn, you will find bushes and tree. Plus you are invited to lay near its stream and watch the water trickle along as time ticks by.
Those who are interested can hang around the plants and watch them grow into magnificent tree. In the meantime, you will be able to observe the little insects squirming around, building its nests or going about its busy daily life. As you marvel at the unwaveirng determination of the ants, the coolness of the praying mantis and the laziness of the earthworm, do not forget to take time to enjoy the moment.
To add to the diversity of fauna, you will discover the presence of some very interesting animals only found at Dairy Farm. Firstly, you will be lucky to find the mystical Lion with his majestic mane! His roar can be heard from miles away but do not fear for he only brings lots of love through his monstrous hugs! Expect only fun and love in the presence of this mighty creature.
The second most elusive animal is the crazy giraffe lurking in the shadows of the night. This giraffe is undeniably unique as it is highly nocturnal and dislikes plants. It is a carnivorous giraffe! First of its kind in Singapore, in the world for that matter! In fact, this giraffe is constantly in search of meat, extending its neck high above the trees. It has been last spotted kicking a coconut ball around showing glimpses of a footballing brain.
Lastly, the most interesting animal (or creature) you will find is not any conventional one. It is a celebrity in his own right, having featured in the much lauded Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Despite having had a minor role, it has clearly been the most popular character of the movie with many children and adults alike imitating his famous line "my..... preeeeeeccciiiooooouuuuussssssss". It is none other then Sméagol! It or should I say he has agreed to make a guest appearance at Dairy Farm this December so look out for him! Please refrain from asking for an autograph as you will be wasting his prreeeccious time!
Recently, Sméagol was caught catching a free ride on the lion's back which infuriated the lion. However, he was later seen begging for mercy, saving himself from the lion's wrath.
Dairy Farm also promises that you will have the opportunity to experience the lives of these animals. You will have a chance to attempt to fly like a fox down an exciting zipline and you may discover some foxes within the premises itself. Another really exciting experience would be the monkey climb where campers can expect to scale walls like real monkeys! Some of you i'm sure will put the lazy monkeys at Bukit Timah who try and steal food to shame!
